二月九日舉辦農曆新年慶祝活動,內容包括舞獅、 幼小班唱遊、歌唱表演、相聲、成人班歌唱等精采節目。我們還安排了好吃又好玩的手工藝、春聯、童玩、年糕、摺紙、剪紙及元寶等攤位參觀。
We held our annual Chinese New Year celebration activity on Saturday 2/9 during our regular school hours. We had lion dance, singing, duet talk show, and many exciting programs performed by our students. We also had cultural booths set up for students to visit in turns including, Chinese art, craft, toys, paper cutting, rice cake, and dumpling.

在 11 月 17 日 星期六, 中文學校為一年級A班與一年級至三年級B班舉辦背誦比賽,二年級到六年級的查字典比賽,以及七到九年級的朗誦比賽. 背誦比賽是由同學從三首唐詩中選擇一首背誦. 依照學生的發音,清晰度,表達方式和流利程度. 每班選取前五名得獎, 在查字典比賽中同學必須在50分鐘內由字典中查出60 個字的部首, 注音, 頁數和造詞. 朗誦比賽是由同學準備一篇故事. 從比賽同學的發音,清晰度,表達方式和流利程度. 每班選取前五名在12月1日舉行決賽.
On Saturday November 17, 2007, we had the Recitation competition (Grades 1A, 1B, and 3B), the Word-Lookup competition (Grades 2-6), and the Interpretive Reading competition (Grades 7-9). In the recitation competition, students chose and memorized one of three given poems. Five winners were chosen from each class based on their pronunciation, clarity, expression, and fluency. For the Word-Lookup competition, students were given 50 minutes to look up 50 words in a Chinese dictionary. Students were required to find the word's root, phonetic spelling, page number, and a phrase example. In the Interpretive Reading competition, students prepared and read a short story. They were graded on pronunciation, clarity, expression, and fluency. The top five students from each grade level will participate in the final round of the competition on December 1st.

The Moon Festival is a traditional Chinese holiday that celebrates the legend of the Chang'e and her flight to the moon. The teachers told the students the story of Chang'e and Houyi, and the students had an opportunity to taste moon cake.
今年暑假為期四天的中文學校夏令營在明大聖保羅校區的學生活動中心舉行,一共有三十五位由五歲到十五歲的小朋友參加. 請到三位來自台灣的老師, 指導同學中國傳統手工藝,童玩和舞蹈. 最後一天同學們的成果展和精彩表演. 更讓父母們大開眼界.
Last summer, our Chinese school summer camp was held for four days at the Saint Paul Student Center at the U of M. Three teachers came from Taiwan to teach our students about traditional Chinese crafts, toys, and dance. About 35 kids age 5-15 attended the camp and participated in the final performance for the parents.
